Theater Director
About the Job
The team behind Eve, An Opera is seeking a local Theater Director to oversee the practical and creative interpretation of our 2024 performance. This person should be highly organized, creatively motivated, collaborative, have strong leadership skills and be invested in a healthy evolution of the show.
Duties:
- Work alongside the Eve, An Opera team to understand the development of the show, and create and implement an artistic vision for our 2024 theater performance.
- Provide design directives and oversee creative production of sets, props, lighting, etc.
- Schedule and lead section and full cast rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and curtain call including actors, dancers, band, chamber choir.
- Work with the Producer to be informed of the production budget and associated line items for the creative production of sets and props, and the development of the show at large.
- Work with a designated Lighting Designer to integrate and design dynamic lighting cues that support a dramatic and visually interesting theater experience.
- Work with a designated Sound Engineer to implement dynamic musical cues, and integrate any unique sound effects.
- Work with designated Stage Manager (3 weeks out from show date) to fold them into the production and be informed of dynamic lighting, set, prop, and cast cues.

The team behind Eve, An Opera is seeking a local Stage Manager to support the execution of our 2024 performance. This person should be highly organized, confident, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
Duties
- Work alongside the Eve, An Opera team to understand the creative design of the performance
- Work with Theater Director to understand all dynamic lighting, set, prop, and cast cues
- Participate in cast rehearsals, working closely with Theater Director and Artistic Director to understand the totality of the performance
- Keeping track of and blocking creative props and sets
- Ensure safety of cast members on set
- Facilitate communication across technical teams to seamlessly call show cues
About Eve, An Opera
Eve, An Opera is a multi genre performance that showcases dance, aerial, and a body of music written and composed by Andrea Densmore with her son, Tony Owen. Eve weaves a compelling personal story about women's exploitation and liberation. This grassroots performance blossomed from a backyard show in Bolinas to a full house at The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in 2022. We look forward to bringing the next interaction of this show back to the stage in 2024.
